Our ward was going to have a ward party on May 30 (more on that later) and needed some help in the kitchen. Well, since I’m not very good at being a helper, I volunteered to take over. They agreed (thanks guys!!) and I was on the job. After getting my helpers I decided to cook the 120 pounds of chicken here at home. It would be easier and taste better too. <\/p>\n

\n[THE CHICKEN…..]<\/p>\n

After talking to a few people about how I should cook this chicken, Scott and I decided we’d boil it first in this broth (thanks Gayle!!) of vegetables and spices, and then BBQ it. Since Scott was going to be in charge of the bbq’ing he needed a new tool (ever found how a guy always gets a new tool out of the deal??). <\/p>\n

The tool was a new BBQ I was happy he was able to get one. We’ve been talking about needing a new grill (our 10 year old Weber was getting just a tad bit too small for us!). After much research and deciding, he found what he wanted for the price he was willing to pay. <\/p>\n

He came home Friday May 29 all excited and went right to work putting it together while I was boiling chicken. By the time he was ready to BBQ, so was I. We spent the rest of the night (and morning) preparing the chicken. <\/p>\n

The best part about doing this chicken was that I got a super clean kitchen out of the deal. After having 120 pounds of raw chicken in your kitchen, it only seems right to CLEAN after wards. I was especially worried about my little Keri and her world on the floor. So we spent an hour scrubbing EVERYTHING. We even pulled out the stove! But boy did it sparkle. Even the kids said something about it the next morning. It was a fun evening and a start to a very busy day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
