Sami is out of town at girls camp and I’m home holding down the fort. I made pancakes the other day for breakfast, but we were low on syrup. So, I pulled a page out of Erma Lee’s book. I grabbed a can of peaches and poured them in a blender along with some cinnamon and sugar and blended it together.<\/p>\n
I thought it was yummy. The pancakes were whole wheat, and the flavors really worked. Milo also really liked it. Interestingly, the girls stuck with what maple syrup we had left. I thought for sure they would have liked it. Oh, well. More for the boys.<\/p>\n

Hope everyone had a good July 4th. I got up early and cooked 12 pounds of bacon. What a great way to start the day! Bacon is just meat candy. We enjoyed our wards annual July 4th breakfast, went to the parade (very nice this year), went on a loooooong family walk
\nand had a BBQ. All in all, very good.<\/p>\n
Proud to be an American. I also often take the time on the 4th to count my blessings. And I have to say, the Fremont Thompsons are richly blessed.<\/p>\n

Well, it’s officially here. Or will be in 4 more days. Jaime will be a teenager. Of course, we really have two teenagers in the house, Alix is growing up more each day. My girls will kill me for writing this, but it must be recorded for posterity.<\/p>\n
I first noticed boys checking out my daughters about 2 years ago. I distinctly remember the first time I ever saw a boy check Jaime out. I’ve adjusted to that fact of life and no longer want to maim boys who gawk. However, today on our walk, a boy rode his bike out of his way just to show off for our girls and check them out. We were at a park, and he actually rode over to the playground, circled, jumped his bike and left, all while watching to see if my
\ngirls noticed. He had a friend with him who wasn’t as bold, but who managed to look back over his shoulder as they rode off.<\/p>\n
I gotta tell ya, it’s something else to witness a boy try and get a girls attention. Jaime and Alix will never admit it, but I think they enjoy it.<\/p>\n
