\tWell, I did it. I taught my first Gospel Doctrine class. You know, it wasn’t that bad. I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be, I managed to get a little class participation, and I think one or two people felt the spirit. In our ward, if you are good at this calling, they leave you in for a long time. So if I get released next month, you’ll know why.<\/p>\n
For both the opening and closing prayers, I asked for volunteers. After class, the bishop approached me and said, “This isn’t a church of volunteers. When you need a prayer said, just call on someone.” I have found that following my bishop’s counsel has always let me aright, so I will be exercising that prerogatived from now on.<\/p>\n
I don’t have much more to add, Sami is sitting next to me, busily tap-tap-tapping on her keyboard, so I expect there will shortly be a detailed account of our lives from the past two weeks posted to this website.<\/p>\n
I do want to give ya’ll an update on my health. At my last visit to my doctor, I was released from all restrictions, with the caution to still be careful. My back and right are are still very sore, but I am learning what me limitation are, and am careful to test the envelop first, before going to far with any physical activity. I still can’t lay on my right side, and I don’t liked to be hugged too tight. This is not meant to be a laundry list of complaints, just a demonstration of how the Lord has healed and blessed me since the accident. Things could have been much worse, and the recovery could be much longer, but every day I witness little miracles and I am grateful that the Lord has saved my life and humbled me.<\/p>\n
It was good to see the Laytons and the Vegas Thompson’s last weekend. It’s good to know they continue be good people and improve their lives each day. We are blessed to be associated with both families. <\/p>\n
Jake took me for a ride around Vegas and showed me the developments he had a hand in developing. He also showed my the street he named after Mom. If any of you ever get a chance to drive down Janesville Lane, it’s quite a treat.<\/p>\n
Steve took me on a tour of his companies facilities. It was nice to see where he works, and learn more about what he does. He’s involved with some pretty cool projects at work.<\/p>\n
