Milo Man

It’s been more than 24 hours since my last post and what a busy 24 hours!!

Lots has happened since yesterday afternoon. So much so I’ve been too busy to do anything but help Milo.

Have you ever tried to stay hydrated using only a syringe? Milo is trying and this is proving to be hard. He is still on IV fluid because he can’t take enough fluids by mouth to stay hydrated.

Normal first night in the hospital. He’s hot. He’s cold. He’s thirsty. He’s nauseated. He’s in pain. Need vitals. Need medication. Need to pee. Roommate needs all these same things too. Wouldn’t change being here for anything else.

Milo was done with surgery at 1pm. The doctor started about 9am. So it was a 4 hour surgery. We got to see Milo just a few minutes before 2pm.

9.5 years later. 2 feet taller. Leaps and bounds smarter. Different doctor. But the same boy. Same hospital. Same support staff. Same ideal outcome.

Yay!  We just had our last appointment with the plastic surgeon in S.F.  For the last 5 weeks we have been going to S.F. weekly to meet with his plastic surgeon and make sure that Milo’s wound on the side of his head healed up good.  Read the rest of this entry »
