Since the kids were pretty bummed about missing out on camping we decided to camp in the backyard. It was far from a “normal” camping trip but fun none the less. We made the rule that when the camping trip started we could only come into the house for the bathroom or for the refrigerator. Everything else was outside and that is where we had to stay. Memorial Weekend Fun #1

So we were suppose to go camping over Memorial Day weekend. We were going to go the Y.W.’s camp and help clear trails and clean bathrooms in preparation for their camping week later in June. FYI: Running for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Karen Blake and Henry Williams Jr (homeschooled his children for 12 years) seem to be strong supporters of Home Schooling.

Upcoming California Election

I received an email warning against one of the candidates for superintendent of schools. Everyone is free to vote as they wish but I thought I’d pass this on just in case you didn’t know. I for one think that if I want to homeschool I should have the right to do so. But if I don’t want to homeschool I should have the right to do so. He doesn’t have to like homeschooling, but he also shouldn’t dictate whether or not I should like homeschooling!

Heads up, California voters! The election of June 8th will determine
the new Superintendent of Public Instruction. Candidates include
Leonard Martin who opposes homeschooling and equates it to
segregation.

Busy Month
