CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Keri’s 5th Birthday

on August 4, 2013

Well, our youngest child is 5 years old. We had our traditional 5 year old party with friends. We did a carnival theme this year. We have enough resources that I was able to borrow everything I needed for a fun, sugar filled carnival party.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa and incredibly helpful older children, this party went off without a hitch. It was the best, least stressful 5 year old party I’ve done so far. It was by far the smoothest, funnest, fastest cleaned up party ever. Thanks family for being so great and making this party easy on me and fun for Keri.

Some of our fun carnival items. Popcorn machine, hot dog roller, cotton candy machine and shaved ice machine. So fun!

Thanks grandma for all your help. She decorated for the party. Made the popcorn. Ran a game. Cleaned up most of the dishes and machines. Made dinner after the party. Whew! She was busy!!

Scott loves it when his parents visit. We all do!!

Decorating buckets to use as their prize collectors.

Jaime did face painting. She did a great job.

Niah helped man some of the games. Along with Milo, Alix and Afton.

Mmmm, eating hot dogs and other yummy snacks that 5 year olds love.

Birthday Girl!! Love you Keri!

Milo’s “dig for bugs” game.

Afton’s duck game.

My 5 favorite things about Keri:

Oh ya, Grandma blew up balloons too!

-She loves to sing and dance. She sings and dances her way through most of life. It is so cute and she reminds us so much of Jaime.

Grandpa’s creation. Thanks Grandpa! The cupcake cake was perfect!

Having fun with her friends.

-She is an instant smiler. Her smile is contagious. It makes for some very fun moments in our house.

The little boy in the back is the son of my wonderful friend Jen. When it was cake time we noticed he was not in the house. So Scott went to look for him. He was in the backyard in one of our play houses. Scott said ‘Come on Brik, cake time.’ Brik said, ‘Is it a princess cake. I don’t want any princess cake!’ Scott just died laughing and told him it was not a princess cake, so he came inside!! :o)

“Happy Birthday to you….”

-She loves to help. When she decides that she is mommy’s helper there is nothing I can do but give her a task to perform. She LOVES to help me cook and is pretty good at it for her age!

-She speaks her mind very freely. She is not going to be the unheard last child. She makes sure you can hear her and that you will listen to her!

-She loves the gospel. She loves to “sing” the hymns with us. She loves to listen to stories about Jesus and she loves to pray. She is really good at reminding us to do what is right.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! This day wouldn’t have been so special without you!

We love you Keri!
