CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

June and July

on December 1, 2013

In June Jaime had her first “teenager” party. She invited all her friends and they had a bbq, games by a fire pit and some laser tag. Funny side note: Before the party Jaime asked “Where are you guys going to be during the party?” “Right here,” I said! It turned out perfect and her friends enjoyed her siblings very much.

We also planted our garden in June. A bit late but the weather here is so forgiving we gave it a go!

Getting the garden ready

Planting time!

Seeings how we didn’t take any other pictures of our garden, we were sorely disappointed by the fact that pumpkins overtook our garden. We had tomatoes and pumpkins. If it hadn’t been for the squash plants we planted in the front yard, I might have called this year a total loss! However, speaking optimistically, we didn’t have to buy any pumpkins for Halloween carving or Thanksgiving pies. So it wasn’t a total waste! :o)

Jaime loves to cook/bake. Here she had made a blueberry ice cream pie. It was mighty tasty!

Love this guy and his faithful service to our ward. As of August he has been in the bishopric for 3 years.

Mmmmm, plum puree for making jam and fruit leather!

Love my snuggle bug!

Scott helped Jaime dye her hair for the 4th of July!

So patriotic!

4th of July this year was different! It was super hot here in Fremont, hotter than usual, plus we had all come down with something. So after the ward 4th of July breakfast, we went to the church with games, pillows, blankets and food and just hung out in the cultural hall (it was a good 20 degrees cooler than our house!). We were there for 9 straight hours watching movies, taking naps, playing games and recovering from the heat and our miserable colds. All in all a fun day, just very different than what we normally do for the 4th.

    2. Scott helped Jaime dye her hair???
    3. You LET her dye her hair???
    I love it.

Can’t wait to read the rest.
