In case you hadn’t noticed I’ve been avoiding the mom post. Not sure why. I do want events recorded. Perhaps because it’s just so fresh. I dunno. Anyway, a VERY wise friend told me that details are not necessary and if I avoid this any longer then I may stop blogging altogether and that wouldn’t be good either. On Friday July 9, since Scott was going fishing with Afton and Alix, I took the other 4 kids out to Brentwood to visit my friend Erika. We started out by going bowling. That was really fun. Last summer we got bowling passes and bowled almost everyday. This year we didn’t get those passes and so this was our first bowling of the summer. The kids had a good time and it was a good start to the day. (more…)
July 8, 2010 marked the birthday of my oldest child. Jaime is now less than a year away from being in young women’s and frankly that scares me! I think about having a child in young women’s and that confirms to me more and more that I am definitely no longer a “young mother” but more of an “experienced mother”. But as long as I can help it, I’ll continue to act like a young mother!! (more…)
After the Jelly Belly Factory on Tuesday July 6, we did not want to go home. It was still early enough that if we went home we would feel compelled to clean or be productive in some way, so we opted to go somewhere else. There was a brochure at the entrance to the J.B. factory that said Travis AFB was close and there was a free history museum. So we called them and decided to head over. (more…)
